Pine Wood Derby

A few weeks ago we were invited to our nephew's first pine wood derby event. Drew was very excited and proud of his green race car. There was three wards combining to put on the event, so it was quite full and the race format was a bit crazy for they had to format a raceoff of almost 40 cars. You could also see the many fathers gathered in the background with portable toolboxs full of extra wheels and weights along with tubes of graphite geared up ready to assist (or really take over if they could) their boys and the races ahead. Because there were so many cars to race the event went a few hours and each boy only got to race their car about three or four times all night. I think this will be the last combined ward event and they'll go back to ward by ward events where the scouts have a lot more attention and more of a chance to race their car.
Drew was very exited to have us there and was more excited to have us put his pictures on our blog site so others could see his car. So, here it is Drew. Thanks for letting us come and cheer you on.

By the way, he won this one! Congrats Drew!

The pinewood derby looks fun. The bouncing ballerinas would be so welcomed at my house--bouncing and dressing up are some of Mya's favorite things to do. Your baby, well simply beautiful! Such a neat family. Want to let you know that you've been "surfed". Drop on by my blog to see what that means! ~verna
